We recently taught an Augmented Reality T-Shirt Printing workshop at IPACA, encouraging children and their parents to produce a family crest. We then used an app called Aurasma to bring the crests to life.

The activity involves:

  • Designing your family crest on paper
  • Using Fotor online to design a crest
  • Uploading the crest (the trigger image) to Aurasma, adding a mask and uploading an ‘overlay image’ – the one which will appear when you put the app’s camera over the image with your smartphone/tablet.
  • Optional: printing your crest onto transfer paper and ironing it on to a t-shirt

Follow our activity guide below to make an augmented reality t-shirt for yourself!

Alternatively, you can download a Word document version of the Augmented Reality Tshirt Printing activity guide.
